Scotland Yard
Condominium Association

August 8, 1962 - May 17, 2015

It is with tears and sadness that I must announce that our long-time friend and maintenance man, John Rollins, passed away on Sunday, May 17th, after a short illness.  John started working here at Scotland Yard in May of 1988 and had been with us for approximately 27 years.  He left us entirely too early, at the age of 52. It’s amazing to think he had been here over half of his life. Most of our Unit Owners have not been here as long as John was.

We can’t replace John, not really.  His knowledge of every building, every roof, every pipe, and every bay window in this community will surely be missed, he was a walking, talking Scotland Yard encyclopedia.  It will be very hard, if not impossible, to fill his shoes here.  Employees as special as John are rare.  We ask for your patience as we learn to live in a Scotland Yard without John.

John’s obituary is available here, but we are including it here as well..

John P. Rollins, age 52, of Pataskala, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015.  John was born August 8, 1962 to the late Gerald and Mary (Rayburn) Rollins in Columbus.  He was a graduate of Walnut Ridge High School, Class of ’80 and has worked at Scotland Yard Condominiums for more than 20 years.  John loved to fish, gold and was an avid Buckeye fan.  He will be remembered as an awesome, wonderful husband, brother and uncle.  John was a member of the Eagles F.O.E. #3261 and member of VFW Post 9473.  He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Rodenfels) Rollins; brother, Danny Rollins; sisters, Kathy Barford, Patty (Miles Capehard) Burke; sisters-in-law, Rosalie (Larry) Lindsey, Karen (Brian) Wray; and many nieces and nephews.  John is preceded in death by his brothers Gary Rollins, Tim Rollins, nephews Andy Barford, Brian Lewis and brother-in-law Michael Barford.  A visitation will be held WEDNESDAY, May 20, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the PFEIFER FUNERAL HOME, Reynoldsburg, where his funeral service will following on Thursday 2 p.m.  Burial in Glen Rest Memorial Estate.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to the charity of your choice or given to the family.

If you’d like to drop off condolence cards, I will gladly get them to his wife, Pauline.

Words cannot express the depth of our sorrow.
